The recent story about the find of the Darwinius masillae certainly has had some showing in the media … and it has affected blog traffic as well, including mine. Look at the graph supplied and realise that the massive traffic increase is due almost solely to the search string “missing link found”. The oddly funny part is that search will take them to an entirely different story about another transitional fossil that was dug up…

I saw this at a couple of other good blogs and decided to join the proverbial band wagon. The instructions are as follows:

The instructions as I can gather go; repeat instructions so the next clod in-line can repeat them when you tell them to repeat them (you didn’t tell me to repeat them did you Mikey!); turn to page 123 of the nearest book to you (I’m assuming with 123 pages in it) and write out the 5th sentence.
The book in question happens to be the manual for my new Nokia N95 8gb. No, not exciting or interesting in the least but them be the breaks: “All warranty information, product features and specifications are subject to change without notice.”

Just a quick item but it is still worthy of note. Go and check out The Frame Problem for a little something called The CarnivUL of The fraudless: exposing the CULT. It is a rather fascinating look at the whole Anonymous vs Scientology affair and just what a pack of bastards Scientology often are.
I give up. After ages of resisting the urge to keep some sort of online journal, I've finally fallen to temptation and started this thing. I don't, at this time, comprehend the attraction of these things but I'm prepared to give it a shot. So what will go here? At this stage, I have absolutely no idea at all. Rants, opinions on things and stories of interest most likely with the occassional piece of random nonesense thrown in for good measure.
A week ago I ordered a remarkably geeky item from Minotaur Books, a sonic screwdriver replica/toy/UV light thing as seen in Doctor Who. One thing I do dislike is waiting for parcels you know are coming to actually arrive, especially when they take more than three days to be delivered. Curse the resurrection of the Doctor Who TV series, it has caused my own love of the franchise to raise it's cash sucking head once more…
