stupid_idiots_bigThe Australia Christian Lobby seem to be a bizarre bunch, investing a great deal of their time and resources into Steven Conroy’s idiotic mandatory internet filtering plan for Australia.  Finally bowing slightly to technical expertise and simple common sense, Conroy’s hardline stance seems to be softening slightly of late to the extent where (shock! horror!) legal material won’t be filtered.

This seems to have upset the Australia Christian Lobby a bit since it stops their plan to impose their morals on everyone else.  What utter gall of them to believe they have such a right, the right to dictate what the rest of the country can or can not see – even if it is perfectly legal.  And certain people wonder why an ever growing number of people are growing completely disillusioned with the superstitious nonsense that is christianity.

This humble blog has been operating for some time now, over that time various pieces of evidence for both evolution and to showcase the innate idiocy of creationism/ID proponents.  Sometimes it is inconvenient to trawl through a whole blog, even with the search function, to find a certain entry.  Therefore this entry will be a collection to the various evidence based entries presented as well as other pieces of interest.

brain.jpgRNA is one of the more basic fundamental ingredients needed for life as we know it, at least that is what science has been saying for some time now.  One of the components of RNA something called a ribonucleotide which, until now, had proven impossible to recreate in a laboratory. Now some clever little scientists have done just that, using the conditions found on an early Earth as a basis; this acts as rather impressive evidence for the scientific advancement and evolution of life.

I have been known to watch some DVD movies in my time.  I have also been known to play some video/console/PC games occasionally.  I have, of late, been noticing a trend which seems to be slowly getting worse. Wondering what I could possibly be talking about? Read below the line…

His morals start on your PC.

His morals start on your PC.

As I’ve previously touched on, the Australian Federal Government is currently going through the motions of trying to introduce mandatory internet filtering.  Despite various bodies who know better than the Minister for Communications Steven Conroy (such as system administrators, ISPs, tech savvy users, etc) saying that it is a pointless exercise that won’t actually do anything … well, Conroy and the Christian Lobby seem dead keen on getting it implemented anyhow.

SBS, a multicultural based television network in Australia, has a weekly show called Insight which is generally a good program to look at various current issues.  Last night they had a program on the subject, followed by a live chat with certain interested parties on their website.  That chat demonstrated two things:  First, the Insight chat software is really bad with posted comments not appearing or being delayed by many minutes.   Second, that Lyle Shelton of the Australia Christian Lobby really is a clueless idiot.

censorship-smallFor those who may have missed it, the Australia Federal Government are currently trying to introduce mandatory internet filters to the entire country.  Ignoring the technical side of things, which in themselves are ludicrous, the ethical and democratic arguments certainly bury the idea for any sort of rationally thinking person.
