Convenient chart of bat-convenience

Some time back I created a quick comparison, for satirical purposes, between Autobot Leader Optimus Prime and Christian Leader Jesus Christ (there is even a useful pictorial chart for convenience). This comparison showed that if you wish to live by the example of a particular character than you would indeed be much better off going with the Peter Cullen voiced bearer of the Matrix of Leadership. If nothing else, he can give you a lift down-town whilst his opponent could do nothing of the sort.

This time we take a look at the Dark Knight Crusader vs. Jesus Christ. Which possesses the better philosophy? Which has the better track record and achievements? Who has the cooler car? And, most importantly, who serves as a better role model and example for humanity?

Someone told me that Christmas is about the most awesome person who has ever lived; apparently he has done absolutely remarkable things, protects the innocent and combats evil where-ever he may be! He does all this without being seen and never, ever gives up!

bn_0_oroboros_dcp_001One of my sillier hobbies is the enjoyment of comic books.  I hold they are an excellent medium which is often underrated. In recent times both DC and Marvel have had crossover events some good and some bad; Final Crisis, Infinite Crisis, Civil War, Dark Reign, Annihilation, Skrull Invasion, etc.  There is one event coming up which does look extremely promising: Blackest Night.

One of the greatest achievements of human evolution is the imagination and seemingly limitless creativity that we possess. The power to achieve our dreams is not nearly as impressive as being able to have those dreams to begin with.

Part of that ability is to be able to create characters that are better than the creator, even if they are only fictional. We create beings in our heads that have qualities we can only aspire to someday possess … but for what purpose do we do this? Are we making signposts or goals for ourselves? Is it a case of mere wishful thinking? Or are we shaping ourselves as a group, creating figures that we wish to transform ourselves into and making humanity in general better than what it is today?

I grew up in the 80’s, the decade of … well, some really embarrassing things.  But one of the great things about the 80’s was, of course, The Transformers.  In 1986 or so, the Transformers Movie came out and included a fantastic fight scene between Optimus Prime and Megatron.  It seems to have been improved on in the following video and really makes me wish the latest TF movie was based on the Generation 1 characters.
