50,000

Posted: March 25, 2008 in Blogs worth reading

I had not noticed until now but a while back, this little blog of mine reached 50,000 hits.  Not bad, I think, for a blog is which is far from a full time endeavour and is really about not much at all.  It started in June 2006 and reached 20,000 hits at the end of last August.

So this is just a little self congratulatory pat on the pack. Heh.

2007-08-22t16_27_14-07_001.jpgIn case it had escaped your notice, there is a documentary being released in April called “Expelled! No intelligence allowed” (IMDB, Wiki). It’s aim seems to be point out instances of discrimination against academics who are proponents of Intelligent Design in academic circles. Not surprisingly, it is being proclaimed to be all about academic freedom and a blow to the Theory of Evolution and so on. However, even a casual investigation of the film and the cases it supposedly uses clearly show us that … well, just read on and make up your own minds.

I am sure, at one time or another, you have tried that little game where you quickly change channels during an ad break to see what hilarious statements/stories you find through the jumbling of letters. For example; “Today at Seers my pants / were on fire, fire crews stated / won’t someone thinking of the children?!”

Now that would make for an interesting Sundat service sermon!

Any effort to hide or suppress knowledge of any sort is a horrible act, barring truly special circumstances.  To hide knowledge and thus keep society ignorant on nearly any topic is bizarre, idiotic and outright monstrous.  So then, why of all things, do certain religions keep trying to hide out certain pieces of information?

learnenglish-central-stories-treasure-story-330x220.jpgIt has been some time since I’ve done one of these and, to be fair, this candidate is not in the same league as some of the others my little ‘net case examinations have looked at.  That being said, this is still a great example of the sort of utter nonsense that Atheists (and Agnostics, for that matter) have to deal with all the time.  The same old tired arguments or statements which are simply irrelevant to the discussion.

This blog was started in June of 2006 just as a way of killing time and to ramble on about whatever came to mind.  Today it received it’s 20,000th visitor.

For a blog which is basically about nothing, I don’t think that’s too bad. Heh.
